Dr Candida Millar is the Head of Christian counseling at the South African Theological Seminary (SATS). With a love for both Africa and Christian counseling, Candida is passionate about integrating models of practice that serve the African context. She has specializations in narrative therapy, Logotherapy, Christian counseling, and equine-assisted psychotherapy. Her doctoral studies were completed through SATS in 2022.

Christian counseling has faced ongoing debates over its validity. Due to challenges between theological and psychological fields, its ethical integrity has also been questioned, with many practices still lacking sufficient research to ensure safety and effectiveness, despite attempts at professional regulation.

as a Senior Lecturer at NBTS in the Department of Intercultural Studies and also as the Director of the Archives and Museum. He is a member of the Nigerian Association of Church History and Missiological Studies (NACHAMS), Sacred Earth Ministry (SEM), and is a member and consultant for the Baptist History and Heritage Academy of Nigeria. Some Pentecostal and African Indigenous Churches lay claim to the Holy Spirit’s inspiration and revelation for some practices that are inimical to biblical doctrine. Similarly, Montanism, an early Christian movement of the late second century, emphasized the Holy Spirit’s work through the manifestation of spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.
