During November our Senior Management Team will be attending the ICETE Consultation in Antalya, Turkey. This is a triennial gathering of international theological educators. The focus for the 2015 Consultation is: Engaged and Effective – The Impact of Theological Education.

Earlier this month, Dr Willem Semmelink (Head of the Undergraduate School at SATS) spent a week travelling through KZN, visiting partnerships and various fraternals. Willem stopped in Newcastle, Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Amanzimtoti, Port Shepstone and Vryheid.

Willem meets regularly with our partnerships, but on this trip included local fraternals – to share what SATS does and to listen to their training needs within their context. This contributes to their further education and training, and aids SATS in its (periodic) curriculum review process.

These kinds of visits help the seminary strengthen its relationship with partnerships, and to motivate students and church leaders to consider furthering their studies.
