The investigation implemented both a qualitative methodology and a non-probabilistic selection method to explore the cultural, social, and biblical conceptualization that is granted to the leader and to the leadership from the understanding and evaluation of a selected group of people from four different congregations in the province of Cartago. Personal interviews, observation visits, study of historical documents, work plans and crossed-comparative analysis were all implemented in elaborating the results. A major objective was to provide a reference framework to determine how leadership is defined and practiced within these four evangelical communities and if such definition has been or is being biased by historical, cultural, or social- secular values. Upon conclusion of the investigation, it was determined that the assessment and historical-cultural beliefs, exercise a strong influence in the way both the leader and leadership are valued, chosen, and defined.
