Prof. David Ngaruiya
David, who obtained his Ph.D. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, is Deputy Vice Chancellor, Finance, Administration and Planning, International Leadership University. He has presented and published numerous papers on a wide range of issues.
Dr. Modisa Mzondi
D.Litt. et Phil.
Modisa earned two doctoral degrees in theology from the University of Johannesburg. He is a founder and director of Back to Basics- Kago Leswa, and is also a pastor of Let My People Go Ministries. In addition, Modisa has taught theology at a licentiate level in partnership with several Bible Colleges and written several books. He has a passion for children, youth, families and leadership training. His interests are in anything to do with Ubuntu, African Indigenous Knowledge Systems, African theology, African womanism and Pentecostalism.
Dr. Thomas Schirrmacher
SATS is indeed privileged to have Thomas on our faculty. He has distinguished himself at the highest levels of academia by earning several doctorates, being awarded two honorary doctorates, publishing at least 46 academic and 38 popular books translated into 17 languages, authoring at least 240 articles and serving as a professor at a number of universities. He also serves as the representative for theological education on the World Evangelical Alliance.
Dr. Jesse Kipimo
Jesse obtained his D.Th. from the UNISA. He is currently heading and lecturing at Central African School of Missiology in Lubumbashi, DRC and is the dean in charge of academic affairs at Exousia School of Theology and Ministry in Zambia. Jesse has published three books.
Dr. Timothy Churchill
Tim is the Academic Dean at the Theological College of Central Africa in Ndola, Zambia. He obtained his Ph.D. in New Testament from London School of Theology (UK). His doctoral thesis concerning the Christology of Paul’s Damascus Road experience has been published.
Dr. Steve Mathews
Steve is a pastor and author who earned his Ph.D. from the University of Pretoria and his D.Min. from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. His primary fields of interest are New Testament interpretation, Christian spirituality, and pastoral theology.
Dr Ho Jin Jun
Dr Jo Jin Jun holds a Th.M degree from Westminster Theological Seminary, D. Miss. from Fuller Theological Seminary and a Ph. D. from the University of Wales. He is President of Myanmar Reformed Presbyterian School of Theology. He has published over thirteen books many of which are focused on Missions.
Professor Nicolene Joubert
Nicolene is a Counselling Psychologist and obtained her PhD in Psychology from North-West University. She has developed and offered numerous courses on the relationship between psychology and theology. She also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Distance and Online Education.
Dr. Steven D. Bruns
Steven earned his PhD from the London School of Theology, in Historical Theology. He has research interests in Church History as well as Liturgical/Sacramental Studies.
Dr Annang Asumang
Annang, a Clinician in Intensive Care Medicine, obtained his Ph.D. from SATS in 2010, and has made a signifi cant contribution as an academic and researcher.
Dr Peter Penner
D.Th. Peter obtained his Ph.D. from UNISA, and a Dr.Habil. from Karoli Gaspar University. He has served on the Euro-Asian Accrediting Association, the European Evangelical Accrediting Association and plays a key role in training scholars in the former Soviet Union countries.
Dr Richard Calenberg
Richard has pastored a number of churches and has been professor and acting professor at various universities. He has extensive missionary and church planting experience and has published a number of articles in Christian Journals. Richard is presently International Director of the Romans Project.
Dr Rob Bowman
Rob earned his Ph.D in Biblical Studies at SATS. He served as the manager of Apologetics and Interfaith Evangelism for the North American Mission Board and is Executive Director of the Institute for Religious Research.
Dr Nzuzi Mukawa Felicien
Nzuzi –obtained his Ph.D., in Missiology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity school Deerfeld, ill, Trinity, USA. He is presently Professor of Missiology at University of Missiology, Professor visiting at UCKIN and Supervisor for dissertation: UNISA, University of South Africa. Nzuzi is missions coordinator for his local church.
Dr Keith Ferdinando
Kieth did his Ph.D. at London Bible College 1992, where he is a Distance supervisor for postgraduate work. He has published a book as well as a large number of papers and articles.
Dr Jae Sung Kim
Kim completed his Ph.D. at Westminster Theological Seminary, USA and is Vice President, Korea Reformed Theological Society. He has pastored three churches and has written numerous publications in both Korean and English
Dr Iuliia Lubenets
Yulia Obtained her D.Th. from the University of Bucharest. She is Instructor of Church History at Tavriski Christian Institute and is on the Adjunct Faculty of TCM International, Austria.
Dr. Steven Mathews
Steven obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Pretoria. He is professor of New Testament at Fruitland Baptist Bible College and Adjunct Professor of Humanities at Argosy University. Steven has pastored a number of churches and has published three books and numerous articles.
Dr Robert N’Kwim
Robert completed his Ph.D. at Protestant University of Congo (DRC) where he is employed as Professor, Department of Science of Missions, Ecumenism and Science of Religions. He has a large number of papers and articles to his credit.
Dr EsckinderTaddesse Woldegabriel
Since 1999, Esckinder has worked for the Ethiopian Full Gospel Theological Seminary Addis Ababa Ethiopia as Academic Dean and Principal, and he is presently the Graduate and post Graduate Head.
Dr Robert Letham
Robert earned his Ph.D. from the University of Aberdeen. He currently serves as Professor of Systematic and Historical Theology and Director of Research, at the Union School of Theology in Wales.
Dr Leonard Mare

Leonard obtained his D. Litt et Phil. from RAU, specialising in Biblical Studies. He currently serves as the National Coordinator of Theological Training in the AFM.
Dr Antonio Barro
Antonio earned his Ph.D, in Intercultural Studies at Fuller Theological Seminary. He serves as the Chancellor of the South American Theological Seminary in Brazil.
Dr. Kevin Smith
D.Litt., Ph.D.
Kevin, who is the Principal of SATS, obtained his first doctorate from Stellenbosch University and his Ph.D. from SATS. He has a deeply insightful approach to theology and has already made a significant contribution in his relatively short career.
Dr. Johannes Malherbe
Johannes, who is the Head of Academics at SATS, did his formal theological training at the University of Stellenbosch. He specialised in Old Testament Studies and evaluated medieval Jewish Bible commentaries for his doctorate which was partially done at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
Dr. Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu
Kwabena is a professor and Director of Graduate Studies, Trinity Theological Seminary, Legon, Ghana. He has published many articles and papers in international journals relating to his fields of research. He serves on the Advisory Board, Material Religion - The Journal of Objects, Arts & Belief.
Dr. Victor Nakah
Victor obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Stellenbosch. He is Senior Vice President of Spiritual Ministry of CURE International and sits on the board of a number of Christian institutions. Victor has published a large number of papers in various journals worldwide.

Dr. Abel Ndjerareou
Abel was the former Principal of the Bangui Evangelical Graduate School of Theology in the Central African Republic. He obtained his doctorate from Dallas Theological Seminary and is widely regarded especially in the field of Biblical Studies.
Dr. Abraham Byeong Jun
Byeong obtained his doctorate in Islamic Studies from the University of the Western Cape, Cape Town (2008). He serves as a missionary in Serving in Mission International and his areas of speciality are practical theology, Christian doctrine, missions, comparative religion & theology.
Dr. Alberto Roldan
Alberto obtained his D.Th. at ISEDET in Buenos Aires and currently serves as the Director Of Postgraduate Studies at FIET in Argentina.
Dr. Anna-Marie Lockard
She completed her PhD in 2012 and graduated in 2013 with the dissertation topic A critical examination of the role of the South African evangelical church in the African Renaissance with Bill Domeris as supervisor. Dr. Bill Grover
After 35 years of public, secondary school teaching, Bill received his doctorate from Unizul at 65 years of age. Along with H. Wayne House, Bill is co-author of “Does God Feel Your Pain?” now being reprinted for distribution in South Africa and neighbouring countries.”

Callie holds degrees from the UKZN (Ph.D.), Univ of Johannesburg (D.Phil.), Univ of Stellenbosch (M.Phil./B.Phil.) and Unisa (BA). His areas of interest include creation theology, theological anthropology, moral theology, apologetics, psychology and education.

Elizabeth obtained her Ph.D. degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where she specialised in the gospel of John and the Dead Sea Scrolls. She currently serves as the Head of Department at the International Leadership University in Nairobi
Dr. Emmanuel Anim
Emmanuel, who is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Theology and Mission, Pentecost University College in Accra, obtained his PhD from All Nations Christian College. He has published a number of key articles and books, addressing controversial issues such as polygamy and the Church in Africa and the prosperity gospel.
Dr. Enrique Fernandez
Enrique obtained his Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies from Trinity International University. He has lectured in a number of institutions in both North and South America and has served on numerous professional boards and committees, presently Chair of Contextual Studies Department, ProMETA, San José, Costa Rica.
Dr. Gordon Pike
Gordon obtained his Ph.D. in Social Research Methods from Briercrest Biblical Seminary. He has pastored a number of churches and has been involved in missions. As Professor at Seminario Bíblico Río Grande he developed and taught counselling courses and provided personal counselling for students. Gordon has published a number of papers and is presently Associate Academic Dean at Programas de Maestría en Estudios Teológicos Accesibles.

Julio obtained his Ph.D. in Theology at Escola Superior de Teologia, Brazi. He is a Professor at the Escola Superior de Teologia, in São Leopoldo-RS and Coordinator of graduate studies and research of United College of Victory. Julio has published numerous papers and articles on a wide range of subjects.
Dr. Keith Ferdinando
Keith, who is a former Principal of the Rwanda Faculty of Evangelical Theology, obtained his doctorate from London Bible College, where he also completed post doctoral studies. His specialist field is African Missiology.
Dr. Lily Chua
Lily earned her Ph.D. at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. She has been an Assistant Professor at the China Evangelical Seminary for several years, where she is also the Dean of Spiritual Formation. Her teaching field specialisation is Christian Education.
Dr. Mariano Avila
Mariano obtained his Ph.D. in Hermeneutics and Biblical Interpretation from the Westminster Theological Seminary, and his Doctorate in Social Sciences from the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana. He has served as a Bible translator, an academic and was a founding member of the Academic Council of PRODOLA.

Mark obtained his Ph.D. in Educational Technology from the University of Northern Colorado. He is the director of learning systems at the Association of Educational Communications and Technology and LERN Learning Resources Network. He has published a number of papers on online learning and has designed a large number of courses on the use of technology in learning.

Mark, who began his academic journey at SATS, obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Pretoria, where he focused on the interaction between science and theology, including integrating evolution and the creative acts of God found in Genesis 1-2. He has published many journal articles.

Dr. Michael Higgs
Dr. Michael Higgs was born and raised in a Christian home in England. He came to South Africa in 1958 and received training as a pastor. After serving a number of congregations, mostly in the Eastern Cape, he taught in several High Schools, lectured at a Teachers’ Training College and then at the Bible Institute, Eastern Cape.

Miguel obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh in 2002. He is Director of Escuela de Capacitación Ministerial de Miami (ECAMM) and Rector of Facultad Teológica Latinoamericana. He has published articles in many journals and is on the Advisory Board of Global Missiology.

Dr. Norberto Saracco
Norberto, who recently headed the Latin American delegation to the Lausanne Congress in Cape Town, obtained his Ph.D. from Birmingham University. He has been the Director of FIET (Facultad Internacional de Educacion Teologica) since 1977 and has served as a visiting professor at a number of seminaries.

Pieter, who is a Hebrew scholar in the true sense of the word, completed his doctorate at Rijksuniversiteit of Leiden. He is an expert in Semitic languages and Judaica and has written dozens of articles, books and reviews in these fields.

Raymond Martin received his doctorate in theology from UNIZUL. He has over thirty years of pastoral ministry experience and is also currently involved in teaching theology and mentoring future leaders at a seminary in the Far East.
Dr. Remi Lawanson
Remi obtained his Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Azusa Pacific University, BIOLA University and Fuller Theological Seminary. His research interests include the integration of missiology, ecclesiology and organisational theory and cross-cultural mission.

Robert, holds a PhD in Systematic Theology from SATS and also studied Architecture at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU). He is the author of ‘Spectacular Atonement: Envisioning the Cross of Christ in an African Perspective’. Currently he is involved in research development at SATS.

Dr. Ruben Paredes Alfaro
Ruben obtained his Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of California. He is currently Associate Director of and Director of the Graduate School of Mission “Orlando E. Costas” of CEMAA in Lima – Peru.
Dr. Russell Morris
Russell earned his D.Min. from Erskine Theological Seminary. He then completed both M.Th. and Ph.D. in theology from SATS. He has written several articles, as well as the book Christian Ethics: Where Life and Faith Meet.
Dr. Steve Hardy
Steve completed his doctoral studies at Trinity International University. He is the Consultant for Theological Education for SIM for Africa, Latin America and Asia and was formerly a consultant for Overseas Council. He is one of the most knowledgeable people with respect to theological education worldwide and has vast experience in missions training.
Dr. Ted Kautzmann
Ted obtained his Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies from Trinity International University and has been extensively involved in missions in South America. He has lectured at numerous universities and seminaries and was on the field staff of Campus Crusade for Christ. Ted is presently Academic Director and professor of Hermeneutics, ProMETA.
Dr. Terry Curtis
Terry obtained his Doctor of Ministry from the California Graduate School of Theology. He has been Professor of Practical Theology at the Houston Graduate School of Theology for 22 years and has published a number of books.
Dr. Thomas Johnson
Thomas completed his doctorate in Ethics and Philosophical Theology at the University of Iowa. He taught philosophy or theology in eleven universities or theological schools in nine countries. Thomas currently teaches at the International Institute for Christian Studies. He is currently Vice President for Research, Martin Bucer European Seminary and Research Institutes.
Dr. Tim McIntosh
Tim obtained his Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University. Currently teaches with ProMETA, is director of general studies at the Evangelical University of Lima and teaches at the Evangelical Seminary of Lima. Tim has been involved in church planting and has written a book and a number of articles on Servant Leadership.
Dr. Tom Julien
As a teenager Tom received a call to missions where he served for most of his life, ending up as Executive Director of GBIM from 1986-2000, when he retired from missions. Tom obtained his Ph.D. from Grace Theol. Seminar, and specialises in leadership training and missions.
Dr. Veroni Kruger
Veroni obtained his doctorate at the University of Pretoria, and a B.Th. Honours in Missiology from UNISA. He was a pastor for nineteen years, and is the founder of The Word for the World Bible Translators. He has been involved in training Bible translators and working as a consultant in Bible translation projects since 1988.
Dr. Victor Kuligin
Victor earned his D.Th. in Systematic Theology from the University of Stellenbosch. He worked for fourteen years in Namibia as lecturer and Academic Dean at Namibia Evangelical Theological Seminary (NETS) and has travelled extensively throughout Africa as a guest lecturer in countries such as Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan, and Rwanda. He has also been an Adjunct Professor at Wheaton College and Trinity Christian College in America.
Dr. Vincent Atterbury
Vincent obtained his D.Th. in Practical Theology from Unisa with a thesis on Church Leadership from a Pentecostal Perspective. He is the Executive Director of the AFM Church’s Education and Training Directorate. His fields of interest are Pentecostalism and church leadership/management.
Dr. Wilson Chow
Wilson earned his doctorate at Brandeis University. He is currently the President Emeritus. Wilson has served as Chairman of the Asia Theological Association, Vice Chairman of the WEF Theological Commission, member of Lausanne Theology Working Group and Chairman of the ATA Accreditation Commission.
Dr. Yusufu Turaki
Yusufu completed his Doctor of Philosophy degree at Boston University, and has undertaken a number of post-doctoral projects. He is one of the most respected scholars in Africa, with a long record of publications at the highest level.
Dr. Celestin Kouassi
Celestin is National Director of training and education of the Evangelical Protestant Church CMA of Côte d’Ivoire, and has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of theological Institutions of Francophone Africa since 2007. He has also been president of the national Executive Committee of the groups Bible scholars Côte d’Ivoire since 2005.
Dr. Edouard Kitoko-Nsiku
Edouard obtained his Ph.D. in Human Sciences and Management at The University of Natal and is presently employed as Africa Area Consulting Translation Manager of The Seed Company. Eduard has served as lecturer and guest lecturer, is involved in Bible translation and has authored a large number of publications.

Jan obtained his D.Th. in Practical Theology from the University of Stellenbosch. Jan served as Principal of Petra College, Western Cape. He has written numerous papers and published several articles on children’s ministry and serves on the governing bodies of several organisations.

Mervin obtained his doctorate at UNISA and served as the Head of the Association of Christian Counsellors of South Africa, before being appointed as Professor of Counselling Psychology at Providence Seminary in Canada. He has served as Vice-Chair of the International Network of Christian Counsellors.
Prof. Samuel Chao
Sam obtained his Ph.D. From Fuller Theological Seminary and is presently professor, and dean, of the School of Theology, Life University, Gardena, CA. He has wide teaching experience at universities in both Taiwan and the USA., and has written many papers and articles, mostly missions related.
Prof. Chuck van Engen
Chuck who is the current Arthur F. Glasser Professor of Biblical Theology of Mission, at the School of Intercultural Studies, Fuller Theological Seminary, obtained his Ph.D. from the Free University of Amsterdam. He is a leading missiologist in the Americas, with extensive practical and academic experience.
Prof. Emmanuel D Mbennah
Emmanuel has two doctorates, a Ph.D. degree in communication from Potchefstroom University and a Ph.D. degree in New Testament from the University of the North-West. He has published extensively and spoken at numerous international conferences. He also has a passion for holistic child development.
Prof. Fred Smith
Fred obtained his Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies at Fuller Theological Seminary in 1985. He is Professor of Missions, and Chair of the World Missions Department at Toccoa Falls College. Fred has published over thirty articles in various Spanish and English publications.
Prof. Samuel Kunhiyop
Sam completed his doctorate at Trinity International University, and Post-Doctoral studies at Global Research Institute. He has been Professor Theology/Ethics at Jos ECWA Theological Seminary since 1993 and Provost since 1997. He is a Langham writer and one of the authors of the acclaimed Africa Bible Commentary.
Rev. Dr. Myk Habets
Myk obtained a Ph.D. in Theology from Otago University and presently lectures at Carey Baptist College in Systematic Theology, Hermeneutics, and Ethics. Myk has written extensively and has had more than ten year’s teaching experience at various colleges and universities and has wide experience in postgraduate supervision.
Rev. Dr Jesudason Baskar Jeyaraj
Jesudason obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Sheffield. After teaching in SAIACS Bangalore, India, where he became professor of biblical studies from 1944 to 2001, he founded the Jubilee Institute for conducting seminars and equipping laity and pastors. Jesudason has authored 15 books and written a proliferation of published articles.

Vernon obtained his masters at the University of Fort Hare. He taught at a number of high schools in South Africa and became the Principal of the Bible Institute Eastern Cape, Port Elizabeth. He presently lectures at the Bible Institute Eastern Cape.
